3 Things Thursday: 35 Before 35 Update

There is rarely a time when I don’t have anything to say, in fact, I would even say that sometimes I’m a conversation hog. (It’s a terrible habit and I’m working on it … it’s even on my 35 before 35 list). Strangely enough, I’ve been staring at the computer screen today and have no idea what to say for the past 35 minutes….ain’t nobody got time for that!

So, since I was thinking about the whole ‘talking too much, not listening enough thing’, I thought today would be the perfect day to revisit some of the other things I put on my 35 before 35 list and see how far I’ve come.

? 1. Print and Organize Family Photos {#2 on my list}

So I’m nowhere near done this project, but so far I’ve bought some albums I like, deleted at least 200 photos I don’t ever intend to print, and printed 100 images. I was really struggling with where to start on this project because I wanted it to be done perfectly. Initially I was trying to organize the photos so we could backwards and print a photo book for every year since we got married – ummm, too much work!

The new plan is to just start printing a couple hundred pictures a week until we have some albums full of pics (the kids love flipping through the albums). I’m not even super worried about being chronological anymore I’m just printing. It’s not about perfection anymore, it’s about getting something done.

? 2. Take a Family Vacation {#23 on my list}

Since I wrote my list, we’ve been to Harrison Hot Springs, Squamish, and the Mr & I went to Salt Spring Island. Plus, next week we are heading out on a road trip that will take us to Golden, Banff, Calgary, Drumheller, and Edmonton. I think it’s safe to check this one off the list!

? 3. Take Really Special Family Photos {#20 on my list}

We did this yesterday and it was spectacular! I can’t believe we haven’t done it before – how crazy. Growing up whenever we took family photos everyone wore their best clothes and posed in studio shots, it was a brand new experience to throw on some jeans and run around the park for pics.

This shoot has so many amazing pictures, and I’ll do a detailed post with more next week, but this is your ‘sneak peek’! PS: if you live in the Lower Mainland and want pics, these were done by my uber talented friend Aziz, tell him I sent you for a deal!

{If you are curious about the rest of my 35 before list list, you can check it out here!}
