3 Things Thursday | All Business Baby

It’s time for 3 Things Thursday, our weekly link up of three things we love! Check out details on how it works and how you can join here.

Two things that are blowing my mind right now; it’s already May 01, and we are on week 5 of Three Things Thursday – time really is flying! The last few days have been a total blur, because I’ve had my head down in work mode. My little business is growing, and it looks like this summer is going to be busy, busy!

Random note – the image above is from the BC Real Estate board, it’s cherry blossom season in Surrey/Vancouver!

Here are 3 Things I’m loving right now:

1. Instagram
I know, Instagram is not new – but I’ve only really started using it since the beginning of the year and I’m hooked. I’m constantly searching for nails of the day and face of the day posts, so much inspiration. Some of my favourite accounts to follow for inspiration and images are; Martha Stewart (@marthastewart), Wilton Cakes (@wiltoncakes), Vogue India (@vogueindia), and Tea India (@teaindia).

You can also follow me on Instagram – I’m @pinkchai

2.  Strengthfinder 2.0
My GF Agnes introduced me to the Strengthfinder 2.0 test and it blew my mind! It’s a simple test that takes about 30 minutes and identifies your top 5 strengths, so you can work on improving them. It sounds really basic, but it nails your strengths to a tee (it worked for Aggie, me and Mr. T perfectly), and then sends you a report that gives you easy action steps for leading with your strengths. If you are self-employed, or if you work with a group of people, this is a must!

toads and diamonds book review

3. Toads & Diamonds
I’m not sure if I’ve shared this before, but I have a HUGE love for young adult fiction books, particularly of the fantasy genre. My all time favourite series is the Narnia books and I re-read the whole collection at least once a year. This week I read a young adult book called Toads & Diamonds by Heather Tomlinson and just loved it! Based on a fable about a widow and her two daughters, this book is set with the backdrop of mystical villages in India, and has just the right hit of desi flavour for me. There is love, magic, mystery, and adventure – plus it’s an easy read, only took one sitting for me.

PS: There are links are no affiliate links in this post, just things I love!

Now it’s your turn, I want to know 3 Things that you’ve been thinking about this week! Write a post and link up below. Just a few rules (well requests really). Please link back to one or all of the hostesses; Raj from Pink Chai Living, Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch, or Salma from The Write Balance, and share a link to your post not your blog’s home page. Feel free to use 3 Things badge in your post.

Love all your three things! I just got into Instagram recently too after we did #moms30for30 Fashion Challenge. And thanks for the Strengh Finder tip, it sounds really interesting.

Fun list! On another random note I am loving your makeup in the instagram shot!

Thank you! That’s from the fall and it’s my go-to berry lipstick by Rimmel: Kate Moss 107

The strength finder test is very intriguing. Will be sure to take it. I’m a junkie for quizzes or anything that tells me more about myself. haha. Toads and Diamonds sounds like a story I might like will check it out. Thanks. (phew I made it in time for the link up this week)

I love Instagram – being a new photographer of course – but my newest thing is Tumblr. which I know is not new itself, but it is new to me. I do completely different “blogging” there than what my “real” blog is all about. There I can let my inner geek and fangirl run wild — which is not really what most of my blog readers want to see. But I can also follow news stories, fashion trends, photographers, art…. which I used to try and do in my overpacked Twitter feed. This way is much easier.

Spring is finally here!! definitely something I am loving right now.

My new Canon telephoto/zoom lens is my very favourite thing though. I cannot believe the amazing shots it captures. I’m still such a newbie, and yet it seems to do most of the work and I just have to point and click. Can’t wait for our tulip festival here in Ottawa!

You lucky girl – I want a telephoto lens, but since I’m upgrading my computer this summer I will have to put it on my birthday list for fall!

Yes to Instagram! Since I post primarily food on my blog, I try not to use filters because I want the food to speak for itself. Instagram however is whole different story and I’ve been going crazy with all of the diff photo editing apps there out there. Great list!

My favourite photo app of all time is A Beautiful Mess – I love playing with their filters and also adding fonts!
