3 Things Thursday: Breaking the Rules

20150227-AZ1_0274It’s Friday morning and I’m trying to write a 3 Things Thursday post. To be honest, I started writing this post on Wednesday night, but I was drawing a blank then and I’m drawing a blank now. I know there should be three interesting things that have happened since last week that I could share, but nothing seems “post-worthy”.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to share some weird curated version of my life with you guys here, in fact, I’m all about keeping it real – but this week was truly a blur. I hate week’s like this. They make me feel like a bad mom (too busy), a so-so wife (not really present), and the kind of entrepreneur I don’t want to be (always working).

I’ve given up on finding the unicorn that is work/life balance a long time ago, but what I do believe in is rhythm. When I’m the best season’s of my life, my life has a positive rhythm, and flow from one area of my life to the next. I don’t feel guilty when I’m working, and when I’m with my kids I’m fully in the moment. This sort of elusive state of “flow & rhythm” is the place where I feel the happiest and most satisfied in my life. And best of all, I know it’s possible to achieve that state, because I’ve done it before.

With that thought I’m choosing 3 Words not 3 Things this week….rest, refresh, re-calibrate – that is my weekend mantra. Here’s to coming back next week with a much better rhythm!3-Things-Thursday-
