First and foremost … 20,000 bonus points to the person that can name the song I’m referencing in the title of this post. Secondly, I know I said this last week, and the week before, but this week is definitely the busiest week of my life!
While being busy has never bothered me, I can’t handle being out of balance. Any time I’ve neglected eating well or sleeping enough, it will definitely catch up with me. It is probably time for me to put the brakes on and fill my fridge with some good food and take a few extra naps this weekend. What do you do to get back to a centred feeling when you are stressed out?
1. Eat Pray Love
This is my go to movie when I’m feeling lost and out of balance (cliche I know), and I watched it again earlier this week. It was the end of a loooong day and I cried like seven times, but in the end I felt good, like I always do after a dose of eating, praying, or loving …..(get your mind out of the gutter 😉
My favourite line in the movie is when she tells the hot Brazillian ‘I don’t have to love you to prove that I love myself.’ I don’t know if I totally get it, or am that self aware yet, but it always makes me feel empowered. If you haven’t seen this movie – do it! It’s on Netflix.
2. Flat Shoes
I’ve always been a high heel girl, but lately, I feel like having a love affair with flats. I’m inspired to buy a pair in every colour and create a special shelf in my closet for them. My feet are jumping for joy right now.
3. Vacation Mode
I’m going to Puerta Vallarta next week!! I can hardly wait, in fact, I’m already kind of in ‘vacation mode’ counting down the days to my first ever solo vacation. Yup; it’ll just be me and the beach and pina coladas!
I’m going to challenge myself to leave behind my big camera and my ipad so I’m forced to really spend time resting and nourishing my spirit. Let’s see if I can do it! (If I’m super courageous I might even leave my hair straightener behind).
