3 Things Thursday | Get Out of Town

Another week, another Thursday. I’m really glad we started this link up, it forces me to stop every week and think about what I accomplished the week before. It’s a good little check point.

Speaking of checkpoints, can you believe we are already 4 months into 2014 – this year is just racing by! This week I’m thinking of 3 completely random things. Watercolour Art{Watercolour Art via Silverridge Studio}

1. This Art
I’m getting to a point in my life where my taste is pretty well defined, and I’m ready to start investing in some real art for my home. In fact, it’s on my 35 before 35 list to by an original painting too. I had been scouring the internets for a print of a Punjabi bride, and then stumbled onto these.

I haven’t hit the purchase button just yet because I’m debating the size, and number of prints I want – but some work from Silverridge Studio will definitely make their way to my home soon.

2.  Word Partnership Walk – Twitter Party
My dear friend Taslim, who is all heart (seriously she is one of the kindest people I know), is helping organize a Twitter party for the World Partnership Walk tomorrow night; April 25th from 7-8pm PST.  The party hashtag will be #WPWVancouver

The World Partnership Walk was started by a small group of passionate women in Vancouver in 1985 and has since raised $82 million dollars to help build healthy communities in Central Asia. So why not take an hour of your day tomorrow, participate in a conversation on how we can make the world a better place, and possibly win some amazing prizes?stawamus chief{Hoping to convince my family to hike until at least the first peak!}

3. A Weekend Getaway
Yes, tomorrow after school we are heading off for a much needed weekend getaway to Squamish. (Heads up; we have a security system, crazy big ‘guard racoon’, and vigilant neighbours – safety first). This month has been really hard for me on the personal and health front, and I am ready to spend a couple of days focussing on my kids and playing outside. Have I told you lately how much I love living in BC?

Now it’s your turn, I want to know 3 Things that you’ve been thinking about this week! Write a post and link up below. Just a few rules (well requests really). Please link back to one or all of the hostesses; Raj from Pink Chai Living, Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch, or Salma from The Write Balance, and share a link to your post not your blog’s home page. Feel free to use 3 Things badge in your post.3 Things Thursday Featured

    Raj, I absolutely love those watercolors as well! A few years ago I found out the artist takes custom orders… Can you imagine your favorite wedding picture recreated in this gorgeous watercolor? It’s on my want list as well!

      I had no idea she does custom orders Nisha! I am going to have to ask about that. Thanks for the heads up :)

    Pretty art! Oh and the big guard racoon is enough to scare the living daylights out of me – don’t know what they’re like on the West coast but here in the GTA they are alarmingly large! Have a fun weekend :)

      Lol – the raccoon in our backyard is scary! When I come home at night I tiptoe to my door just in case he’s there. Sometimes I call the hubs to scare him away first!

    Pretty watercolor paintings! Isn’t the one on the right Aishwarya from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam?
    Hope you’re enjoyed your getaway! Saw some pics on your instagram, the place looks gorgeous!
