3 Things Thursday: I’m So Happy!

Do you have that song stuck in your head now? Sorry, but really I’m so happy…. I’m a particularly good mood today because I’m shooting a video about Diwali and my kids are taking part too. I know it’s probably a little crazy to be so excited about festival season when it’s like a month away, but I am. That’s just the way I roll when it comes to Diwali.

Now that I’ve shared my mood for the week (that’s kind of becoming a trend hey) here are my 3 Things.

? Girlfriend PDA
First up, a little love for my GF Salma. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while you already know her as one of my fellow co-hosts for 3 Things and sometimes guest blogger, but she’s also my personal life jacket at time and I just wanted to give her a little shout out.

It can be really hard to connect with girlfriends once you are out of school and if you don’t work in a big office. I truly feel blessed that I have Salma to lean on for questions about work, random venting sessions, and a little encouragement when I need it most.

(On a side note if you are a parent with young kids, you should really check out her blog – she’s a supermom, but totally real; you won’t hate her for her Pinterest worthy recipes, I promise!)

? I Miss Fashion
So for a few weeks now I’ve been feeling like the blog is missing it’s ‘fashion angle’, and fashion is really one of my first loves. It feels like I’ve been cheating on fashion a lot with food. Then I posted the photo above on Instagram on a whim and the response was – we miss outfit posts! I even got a super sweet email from a reader asking me to start doing what I wore posts again. Just wanted you to know, I miss them too and am working on integrating them back into the blog.

? Fusion Fashion – Again
Way back when we started this 3 Things link up I wrote about my desire to experiment with fusion looks and I’m still really obsessed with it. It’s actually becoming a bit of an obsession. While I don’t want to overhaul my entire wardrobe the urge to change my look is really strong.

I’ve been spending a lot of time online window shopping, and thinking of ways I could add these little touches to my wardrobe. I sort of feel like I have “wardrobe fatigue” – like I’ve been wearing the same type of looks in different colours (or different shades of pink) over and over again. I’m also feeling a strange urge to add blues into my wardrobe all of a sudden. Just a random thought I felt like sharing this week!

Those are my 3 Things Thursday and now it’s your turn. Just write a blog post about the things on your mind this week, grab the button and link up below. It’s that easy and I’d love to read about what’s going on in your life. And when you’re done, make sure to visit my lovely co-hosts, Salma at The Write Balance and Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch and see what’s happening with their #3ThingsThursday.

Wow, thanks so much for the wonderful shout out and I feel exactly the same way about you. I love that we connected online with our blogs and now have a great friendship! P.S Love the outfit on you and it’s black!? I thought you didn’t have any?!

Lol – you are the third person that asked me about my black dress! I’m going through a ‘use it or loose it’ phase with my closet and these are the only two black items I own so I thought I better use them!

Great post! I actually share your excitement about Diwali this year – I’ve moved into my new home plus I’m in a hostess phase so I’ve been brainstorming all sorts of ideas. Because we live in a very windy area right near to the ocean, our diyas will definitely blow out. So I’m sticking with the paper bag over the diya thing and planning to have guests and family decorate a paper bag each so it’ll a be a cool memory for later lol. So basically in summary, yay Diwali! Lol

I love that idea! I’ve been working on decorating some tall glass vases that I can place the diyas in to prevent ‘burnout’ too!
