It’s time for a confession – I’ve been coasting for the last month or so. I’m never fully present in the place or moment I’m in. When I’m with the kids, I’m thinking about work, when I’m at a client meeting I’m distracted by my messy house; it’s exhausting. Even when I’m writing up my 3 Things Thursday posts (which is usually last minute), I’m focussed on getting to the next thing – just checking it off my list.
So if you’ve participated in the link up over the last few weeks and I haven’t visited your blog, my deepest apologies. We started this link-up as a way to connect with other bloggers and get to know more of our readers, and I’ve really slacked in that department. So please bear with me as I’m working on making my way back to the present moment. I will definitely come around and catch up on all the blogs I’ve missed over the next few days.
One: Back to School Shopping
I know, it’s kind of early to start thinking about back to school clothes, but I usually try to get my shopping out of the way in early August and we will be on a road trip then so I feel the need to get organized. We are going to start by cleaning out our current wardrobes this week – figuring out what can be kept, donated, or passed on to a family we now. Then we’ll start thinking about a shopping list.
I usually move last year’s school clothes into the ‘homes clothes’ pile around this time of the year and start buying new pieces for the school year. Do your kids have home clothes and school clothes? That’s a habit I picked up from my Bibi (Grandmother) who changes out of her fancy clothes the moment she gets home from somewhere.
Two: Kate Spade & GAP Kids
I’m ridiculously excited about this collaboration and really hope my kids like the clothes! I haven’t seen any of the actual pieces yet, but I’m sure I’ll love them. This is one collaboration that I’ll be waiting up for – I’m sure the pieces will go fast online. (I believe it will launch in September.)
Three: New Grocery Store Client!
I am beyond thrilled that we are now working with a chain of Indian grocery stores as a social media management client. Fruiticana stores are spread across BC and Alberta, and it’s where I buy all my Indian grocery. (Fun fact; it was also where I had my first ever paying job as a cashier and learned all the names for daal and spices!)
If you are interested in following along on their social channels for fun posts about Indian food, spices, and cooking techniques be sure to check out their Facebook and Instagram account. I’ll be the lead on this account and will have lots of fun pics to share.
Okay, now it’s your turn – pick three things that are making you smile this week, whip up a blog post and share a link below. Feel free to use the 3 Things button in your post, and please link back to one or all of the hostesses; Raj from Pink Chai Living, Salma from The Write Balance, or Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch
