3 Things Thursday: Still Taking it Easy

Umm – Thursday really, how is that even possible? Here’s what I need this week; a volunteer to come help me purge and clean my house, any takers?

I don’t know about you guys but I cannot work in chaos and right now my house looks like a daycare that hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. My kids are so done with summer holidays and it doesn’t look like the BC teachers strike will end anytime soon, and all moms know there is no point of cleaning while your kids are at home. All the chaos plus a flare up of my thyroid is causing me some serious anxiety this week. Also, anyone interested in coming to the office and doing my job for a few days?

3 Things:

keurig 2.0 review{Love this Donut House Coffee – yum!}

? Keurig 2.0

I got to test the new Keurig 2.0 this week and I’m loving it! I was a little worried about getting one of these machines because I’ve heard about the issues with K-cups filling landfills. We decided to try it because in our city the K-cups are recyclable, and I only drink coffee at home once in the day. I love that I now have to option to stock a few different flavours of lattes and flavoured coffee at home for those moments when I want something different.

The other great thing about the Keurig 2.0 is that can you brew a whole carafe when you have friends over. We used one of the carafe packs on Z’s birthday this weekend and it was so simple and quick, perfect for a busy day!

? Zara’s Low Key Birthday

photo{Literally the only picture I have with Z from her birthday this year – laziest mom ever}

I usually go all out for my kid’s birthdays; bake the cake at home, create Pinterest worthy appies, and set up activity stations. This year for Zara’s birthday I did none of those things. For the first time since her 3rd birthday she had a store bought cake, my mom picked up samosas from the store, we ordered pizza, and even the coffee came from the Keurig (I didn’t even make chai!).

I thought for sure I would feel like a miserable failure and Z would be so upset, but she didn’t really notice. At the end of the day the only thing she missed was the crafts/activities we usually do so I took the girls outside and we played a game of freeze dance. It was a good day.

? AstroStyle Horoscope

Do you believe in horoscopes? I’m a total astrology nerd and am in love with this website AstroStyle. If you like reading your horoscope you will love their weekly emails. This month my horoscope is telling me to slow down and take more mid-day naps, I can totally get on board with that!

Now it’s your turn! Sometimes we do all these things for our kids birthday’s and really they couldn’t care less! Sounds like this was the perfect birthday for Zara!

    Kids never seem to notice the things we stress over and feel like failures for – they’re very forgiving and, besides that, I’m sure the birthday celebration was very fun! I don’t usually read my horoscope, but one telling me to take afternoon naps would be welcome!
