Keeping with the theme o f the year, I’ve been super behind with getting the festive season started at my house this year. I’m happy to report though, the Pink Chai clan finally picked out a Christmas tree last night and put up some decorations! It’s finally starting to feel like the holidays at our house and I couldn’t be happier. On that note, my 3 things this week are all related to the holiday season.
? Kooza – Cirque du Soleil
A couple of weeks ago I got a chance to go see Kooza in Vancouver with my friend Aziz; what an amazing experience! We both saw Cirque for the first time, and we literally could not look away from the stage for a minute. People have always told me, you can’t explain the experience of Cirque, you have to see it to feel it, and I couldn’t agree more!
Since I haven’t seen any other shows from Cirque du Soleil, I can’t compare, but I love that Kooza has all the traditional elements of a circus. There was a ringmaster, zany antics between acts, a unicycle, tight rope walking, and hula hoops, all mixed in with some pretty crazy stunt work. It’s a very grown up and awe-inspiring version of the circus. If you want to have a really special experience this holiday season, treat a friend to a night out and see Kooza in Vancouver. They are hear until December 27th, and it’s definitely a show you don’t want to miss.
? Gingerbread House Party
Last weekend my good friend Salma hosted a gingerbread making party at her place, which was the perfect way to start off the holiday season. When we got there she already had the house kits and candies set up for each family and all we had to do was decorate. It was super fun for the kids and the parents! Oh, and not to brag or anything, but we totally killed it, and our gingerbread house won first prize 😉
? Toy Mountain at Guildford Town Centre
This week one of my local clients Guildford Town Centre has been the host for the annual Toy Mountain event hosted by Bell Media, in benefit of the BC Salvation Army. Organizations and individuals come together to collect unwrapped toys for children in need during the holiday season.
Yesterday I hung out around Toy Mountain all day watching families, kids, and companies come out in full spirit to donate, and it felt amazing. My friend Taslim also stopped by to make a donation and we got to catch up for a little bit.
Over all, it’s been a week full of Christmas spirit! Now I’d love to hear what’s been going on in your world. Write a blog post featuring 3 things that you’d love to share this week, include the badge (below) and link back to me or Salma in the post (Nisha is on holidays this month), and share your link in the box below. Looking forward to reading your posts!
