3 Things Thursday: Week 69

I’m currently under the influence of A LOT of painkillers, and generally a little bit miserable, but since I missed last week’s 3 Things post on account of dyeing 150 pounds of rice (more on that below), I figured there was no excuse to bail this week. I injured my knee yesterday and am currently bed ridden and pretty cranky. But the link-up most go on, so let’s talk 3 Things…peacock rangolipeacock rangolipeacock rangoli

One: Rangoli Design for India Live
Last Sunday I was asked by the team at South Asian Family Association to create a community rangoli project. I spent the days leading up to the event dyeing over 100 pounds of rice, and on the day of it took nearly 7 hours from the time I started chalking the outline to when the final project was complete. {Of course I chose a peacock design because well hello … morni love!}

I was super nervous about how it would turn out because I’ve never done a rangoli project that is so big, but I have to say, it looked pretty good! day 14

Two: 15 Days of Moms 30 for 30
Before hurting my knee this week I was feeling pretty proud of myself for keeping up with the Moms 30 for 30 for a full two weeks. I’m not sure if I’ll  be be able to catch up now with the injury, but I have to say that I’ve enjoyed playing dress-up again, and I’ve even enjoyed being in front of the camera.

Once my bummed knee is feeling better I’m considering bringing back a weekly round-up of outfit photos. Is that something you guys would be interested in seeing?11077373_842775579149413_1900645586600312968_n

Three: Chudi Rack
I’m officially working on my first carpentry project! I’ve basically never worked with a saw or nails, or anything remotely carpentry related so this is equally nerve wracking and exciting. I visited Home Depot the other day and got all the supplies I think I need to build a rack for my growing chudi (bangle) collection. Fingers crossed that I don’t lose any fingers!3-Things-Thursday-
