3 Things Thursday: Week 71

The last couple of weeks have been all about trying to balance work, family, and the blog – and sadly, the blog is what has suffered. My natural reaction is to apologize and make a commitment to post more often, but the truth is; until the kids go back to school in September this is probably going to be my rhythm.

I think as I’m getting older (the big 35 is creeping up quickly), I’m starting to accept life as it comes and freak out a little less. Every season of life brings it’s own chaos and adventures, and I’m ready for them! So what 3 things are on my mind this week? alexandria bridge, fraser canyon, BC{Alexandria Bridge – Image by Aziz Dhamani}

One: Alexandria Bridge
I took a drive up to the Fraser Canyon with a friend yesterday as part of a project we are working on and we ended up making a stop at Alexandria Bridge. The bridge was built in the late 1800s, and the view is just stunning. We really are blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Two: The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up
I have heard so much about this book on the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing by Marie Kondo that I finally gave in and bought it. Over the last few months my house has slowly started to look like a museum that displays little piles of not so curated stuff. There are piles on the kitchen table, sofa table, bathroom counter, and so on.

I have read through about a third of the book and there are some pretty interesting concepts, but it hasn’t hit me with the same wow factor that some people seem to have experienced. Here’s hoping the last few chapters kick me into gear.

Three: Pink Chai
There is a new restaurant in Surrey called Lahori that is actually serving salty pink chai {Kashmiri noon chai}. I have never been able to find a place anywhere close to me that makes this delicious salty, nutty tea. If you are in the area and want to try it, it’s only available on Sunday mornings as part of their breakfast buffet. Oh and the breakfast; aloo puri, and halwa … so yummy! You have to eat there.3-Things-Thursday-

    I’ve never has Pink Chai… sounds delicious! I heard the audio book about the Marie Kondo method. Although some parts of the book were a little out there for me, it has helped change my thinking about how to purge and only keep things that spark joy.
