3 Things Thursday: Week 75

{How cute is Zara above? She’s crossing her finger and making a promise to a friend}

Hello September & hello blog, lovely to see you again!

The last two months have been constant chaos, and I’m more than ready for the routine that September brings. What I’m not ready for; pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween decorations, and parkas on sale at the GAP {well maybe the parkas, because I got a smoking deal on them for the kids!}

My plans for the next few weeks include cleaning out my overflowing inbox, spending some time organizing my pantry, and taking some time to breath. I’ve taken up embroidery and hope to spend some lazy evenings at home with a new project. But for now, my 3 Things…..

If you are a blogger and want to participate in the link-up details are below!

? One: Zara turned 8!
We had a really low key birthday party for Zara this year. I took a break from Pinterest perfection and picked up some balloons from the dollar store for decor, and took a little help from Betty Crocker in the cake department.

The girls painted 11×14 canvases, ate grill cheese sandwiches, and played outside. Guys, it was kind of perfect! Easy going birthday parties are the way to go.

? Two: Blog Updates
You might have noticed that things are starting to look a little different around here. I’m really excited about adding some new functionality to the site and making it easier for readers to find content. Things might be just a bit messy, and there might be some links that still don’t work exactly right, but it should be all up and running by the end of the month.

? Three: Hair Experiments
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have heard that I tried to dye my hair last week. It was an epic fail! After being sold the wrong bleach I ended up with a head of hair that looked like a cross between Carrot Top and Ronald McDonald. I’ve now dyed it back to blackest black (my natural hair colour), and I don’t intend to change it any time soon. Unfortunately my hair now feels brittle and looks frizzy. I’ll be giving it some extra love and oil treatments in coming weeks.

    Love the new look of your site. And I know you’re not ready for this, but I’m actually drinking a pumpkin spice latte as I comment on your post :)

    Lazy evenings at home with a new project…that makes me swoon! I’m loving all your dives into whatever your heart is calling for – like your research projects and the crafts. Dreamy. Happy birthday to Zara – for some reason I didn’t realize she and my oldest are the same age?!

      Thanks Taslim! I really do think it’s the season of self-care and indulgence for me :)
