Beauty Products I Never Cheat On…

6-beauty-products

Loyalty is a trait I value highly, but when it comes to beauty products I’m extremely disloyal. If I run out of mascara I’m likely to run to the local drug store and grab whatever is on sale or has a pretty package and grabs my attention. It doesn’t help that I’m a product junkie and am always looking for the next best thing. Strangely enough though, there are few products that I never deviate from and will drive all around town looking for. What makes me so loyal to them? They work every time without fail!

Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover
This eye make up remover is amazing! It’s oil free, removes even long wearing and waterproof make up and is super gentle – no tugging required. I’ve tried a few other brands and was loyal to Lancome’s eye makeup remover before trying it, but now it’s my only choice! (PS: if you want to try some, be sure to connect with my friend Dale, the nicest, most non pressure Mary Kay lady you’ll ever meet)

Dabur Amla Hair Oil
I’m completely aware that the whole world is crazy about Moroccan oil, but I haven’t even tried it yet. As crazy as it sounds, I feel like this amla oil is formulated for Indian hair and it works like magic. I’ve written about my love affair with amla oil before, and I’m still on my once a week routine.

Dove Flexible Hold Hairspray
This hairspray actually lives up to it’s name; it’s flexible and it holds. I really hate hairspray that makes me feel like I’m wearing a helmet, this is nice and light. The best part is, it brushes right out so you can style your hair again the next day. The only thing to remember, this is not for serious up dos – I use it for holding volume or half up half down looks.

Cover Girl Clean Foundation
This has been my every day foundation for over 5 years. Sometimes I use the sensitive skin version and sometimes the dry skin version, they both work for me. This isn’t a heavy coverage foundation, but it evens out my skin and feels super light. It doesn’t have SPF though, so if you use it, be sure to apply a sunscreen under it.

Maybelline Line Stilleto Liquid Liner
I use this liquid liner because of the ease of application and jet black colour. It goes on smooth and has the perfect size applicator for every day wear. Be warned though, you will want to put a primer on your eyelids if you want it to last all day.

MAC Russian Red Lipstick
There is just no drug store equivalent for this lipstick (trust me, I’ve tried to find it). This is one of those rare gorgeous reds that looks good on everyone, and it lasts a long time. Matte reds can be drying though, so I usually put on lip balm before applying it.

What are your must have beauty products? Something you are always loyal too…please share in the comments, this product junkie needs a fix!

I’ve got a few standbys that I can’t live without as well. I just wrote a post for Women in Biz Network about them, but, besides nude lipgloss, they’re Dior Nudeskin Concealer, Smashbox Halo,Clinique CC Cream, and Nars Orgasm Blush, to name a few. And no, drugstore lipsticks cannot hold up to MAC, especially the highly pigmented colours.

I agree with all of the above re MAC! MAC lipsticks are irreplaceable..I’m loving the Dare You right now! Also quite like Clinique dramatically different moisturizer and Lakme eyeconic eye pencil:-)

For many years I was using exclusively Clinique products, but they have a habit of discontinuing stuff they’ve had for decades. I’ve slowly been moving away from their line, except the cream foundation, but after they “improved” their cream foundation, they lost me as a customer. I’ve found a replacement (Laura Mercier Cream Tinted Moisturizer), but I’m totally disloyal to eye makeup and have a bathroom full of random brands of eyeliner, shadows and mascaras.

I’m always looking for a hairspray that doesn’t feel like my hair is stiff. I’ll have to try the Dove one out. Thanks for the tip!

That MAC red lippy looks amazing on everyone I’ve seen wear it!

I agree with your Dove Flexible Hold — that’s in my purse (travel size – very hard to find) and my bathroom. I’ve used the same cleanser for years: St Ives Apricot – cheap and it works great. My go to foundation is mineral powder by Physician Formula. But I do like the Cover Girl one you mentioned too.
One of my favourite make up brands is Benefit Cosmetics. I love the girlie packaging, but I also find they have great products too. For big lashes it is absolutely their Badgal lash mascara, and for cheek bones that stand out – Benetint Rose tinted cheek stain. Puffy eyes? ooh la lift will perk your eyes up. Wish it was available more in my area.

Thanks for the tip – I haven’t tried Benefit products yet, but definitely added to my list:)
