15 Minute Chores for Kids + $100 Mr Clean Giveaway

Mr. Clean Magic EraserWhen my kids were little, Magic Erasers were my must-have cleaning product. We always kept them on hand for “colouring accidents”. Even though our kids are fairly well behaved, we’ve seen our share of artwork on the walls and furniture – nothing a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can’t take care of!

Now that the kids are old enough to help out around the house, we stock Magic Erasers to make chore time easier. One of the chores I regularly assign to the kids is cleaning doors (how do they get so many fingerprints on them?!), baseboards and windowsills, and those are all jobs that Mr. Clean is fully qualified for. Just a quick scrub down with a Magic Eraser will make your front door sparkle for guests – who we expect to see for Thanksgiving and Diwali in the next few weeks. The only thing Mr. Clean can’t do is get my kids to stop complaining about cleaning. Enter stopwatch….Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

When the folks at Mr. Clean recently sent us some Liquid Muscle and Magic Erasers to test out, they also sent some ideas for 15 Minute Renos (#15MinReno). These are basically quick and easy updates you can make to your place with a little Mr. Clean, and very little elbow grease. I took the idea to heart, handed my kids some Magic Erasers, and started the stopwatch on my hubbies phone. Surprisingly this got the kids strangely motivated about cleaning, and it was a total pat-on-the-back moment for me because I tricked my kids into thinking housework is a game. #momwin

While the kids cleaned the doors around the house, I gave Liquid Muscle a test on my stove top. Not gonna lie, I was a bit hesitant because I’ve been pretty much married to my Mr. Clean with Febreeze all-purpose cleaner for the last few years, but the Liquid Muscle won me over! It takes way less scrubbing than my all-purpose spray to clean the stove.

If you have  15 minutes this weekend to do a quick reno, Mr. Clean has some ideas to get you started. {Don’t forget to check out the bottom of the post to find out how to win a $50 Visa gift card, and $50 in Mr. Clean products.}

    • A kitchen sink has to stand up to a lot of grease and can become stained over time. Before spending money and time to replace your sink, use the Mr Clean Magic Eraser to to erase build-up and make it like new.
    • The inside of the refrigerator has been through a lot, including spills and being occasionally exposed to over-ripe produce. The get the shelves and interior glistening use Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle.
    • Keep your kitchen counters looking shiny and untouched with some help from Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle
    • Use your Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on your shower door to remove hard water stains, cloudy build-up and soap scum; it will save you several hundred dollars versus replacing!

    I put a mug of water in the microwave for 5 minutes, then spray the counters. I do any dishes while the cleaner penetrates and the water is in the microwave. The steam from the mug of water will soften any stuck on food in the microwave. I then wipe everything down.
