Outfit: Calvin Klein Color Block Scuba Dress

I had two hesitations when purchasing this dress – the shape/cut, and the price. I rarely wear fitted dresses, and I pretty much only shop for a deal, so you can see why it was a struggle. Thankfully, this Calvin Klein Color Block Scuba dress has turned out to be quite a good investment.

It fits like a glove, which I usually don’t like, but it is also made of this amazing fabric that pulls and tucks at all the right places to create an hourglass shape for me. As an added bonus the amazing scuba like material doesn’t wrinkle and never needs ironing, making it a perfect travel partner.

This dress itself has a very summery feel because of the bright colours and blush pink top, along with it being sleeveless, but you can easily bring it into your winter wardrobe mix with a few tweaks. My favourite fall/winter transition tip is to pair your dressed with textured black tights and shoes. Adding a black jacket will make it even more seasonally appropriate.

If you want to up the ‘glamour’ factor just a little for your look, choose textured or knit tights. This is a simple update that transforms the whole. Pairing the black tights with matching heels will also elongate your legs and make you look taller (a trick I really need!) I kept the winter vibe going with an oxblood/burgundy lip colour. It’s amazing what a difference makeup and hair can make in pulling an outfit together.
