Decorating with Teacups

For the last few weeks I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect teacup. Quest might seem like a strong word to use for a regular shopping trip, but when you’ve visited malls, speciality stores, thrift shops, and spent several hours hunting online, it’s a quest. What is this “perfect” teacup supposed to look like – I don’t know. What I do know is, when I see it, it will speak to me (and the heavens will part, angels will sing, etc.)

Although I’ve had no luck finding the teacup of my dreams, I have discovered the art of decorating with teacups. Yes, I would now like to live inside a teacup shaped house and read books all day, while drinking copious amounts of flavoured teas from my giant collection of teacups. Maybe that’s a little extreme, but I have rounded up quite a few interesting home décor ideas that use teacups. Enjoy!

This is such a classic and simple trick for decorating with teacups, turn them into candles!

I hate to share a photo without a source, but this is so lovely! I found this image on a few different sites, but no reference back to an original. How lovely would it be to this in my office! Or maybe a little girls room? Perfection.

So this DIY is on my must-do list and I’ve even started collecting the cups! Hoping to create a piece like this for my kitchen. Some people are so smart.

Speaking of smart cookies, you really have to head over to the El Brooklyn Taco and check out the post on this DIY Teacup Jewellery Organizer. This would be so pretty on my dresser!

Not all of us have time to do a full teacup DIY, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have touched of tea in your house – how about an art print? This one combines two of my great loves; reading and tea.

Do you have any ideas for decorating with teacups that I missed? Please share with us in the comments below!

Oh the, wall clock is such a good idea! And the Teacup Jewellery Holder reminds me of mom taking her jewellery off while in the kitchen and sticking it in the teacups in the cupboard!

Quest is not too strong a word in my book. My mother had a collection of teacups with saucers. While the saucer and cup matched, none of the pairs matched any of the other pairs. Her friends were quite tickled if she trotted them out for a fancy afternoon of sipping a cuppa together!
