Last month one of my favourite people and kindest friends Eschelle had her fairy tale wedding. It wasn’t huge (the guest list was around 50), nothing was too extravagant – it really couldn’t be, we put it all together on a budget of $2500, but it was one of my favourite weddings ever.
From the moment we started planning Eschelle’s big day, it was clear that she was in it for the marriage – not just the wedding. We put on our thinking caps, got creative, stretched and squeezed the budget and made it happen! Maybe another time I’ll write a blog post with my tips for planing a wedding on a budget, but for today, let’s just marvel in the magic of the amazing photos by Aziz Dhamani, and the gorgeous back drop by my friends Tina & Parveen of Imagination Decor. I really have the best friends, when I told them that I was working on putting together Eschelle’s perfect day they volunteered their time and expertise to help a friend of a friend. If you are planning a wedding though, hands down, these are the people you need to hire to make your fairytale happen too.
Now let’s see those pictures hey……
How perfect does Eschelle look in this vintage inspired lace dress she found online! It is so perfect for her and a great alternative to a cream or traditional wedding dress.
The stage is set for the wedding 🙂 This is the backdrop I was telling you guys about earlier. It was just lovely and became the backdrop for their reception table later.
Also, there are very few photos of my and E because I was mostly in the kitchen prepping food & cake (oh did I forget to mention I was also the caterer! ????). The few photos we did get were silly – but that pretty much sums up our relationship. I do wish I had gotten at least one proper photo of this dress by Vince Camuto that I loved.
I made this cake. Pretty proud of myself considering I burned half and dropped one tier the night before. Also, brought this guy as my date. Isn’t he cute?
A few more photos just because….
And finally, where you will always find me during weddings (in the kitchen)
