What to Wear: Long Drive

I’ve never been much of a car girl – as long as the heat/ac works depending on the season and the stereo works, it’s a winner in my books. What I do love about cars is driving them and heading out on road trips, in fact, I dream of holidays that involve packing up the car and heading out with no clear destination at all. Sadly, Mr. T does not like road trips and the idea of going on a holiday without a destination is not his cup of tea (well actually he doesn’t drink tea at all…) So I was rather surprised when I casually mentioned that I had been offered a Hyundai Veloster Turbo to review and his eyes lit up. Apparently this car is the cool new kid on the block and I didn’t even know it!

I wanted to  take a long drive the Okanagan to take in the beauty of fall colours and enjoy the scenic drive, Mr. T of course was all about ‘let’s test the turbo speed’. The kids on other had were just mesmerized by a car that has only 3 doors, is supposed to go really fast, but is named after a snail?

I ended up taking a lot of pictures of me and not too many of the actual car (oops) so the one on the right is a stock photo – isn’t she pretty! I’m convinced this car is a girl – my husband agrees too. It’s super sleek but also dainty and cozy in a way that I love!{Random side note – you must got to Sirens ASAP, I got this dress for $5 a few days ago. They are clearing out all of their spring/summer stock at crazy prices!}

In the end we didn’t go on that trip to the Okanagan, but we did take a drive down to Abbotsford so that the Mr could test the Turbo, I could test the speakers and sound system, and the kids could bicker in the back seat – nothing new there. I’m not going to talk too much about the feature of the car here (because I made a little video down below to share my love), but I think it’s an awesome car for anyone that wants to feel a little sporty and stylish without dropping a whole lot of dollars. It’s actually priced quite reasonably starting at $19,699 and it has amazing fuel efficiency, because let’s be honest, that’s all anyone cares about these days.

Enough car talk for me, can we talk about my “riding boots” for a minute? I know their supposed to be equestrian and all that, but I think that went really well with my sort-of-sports car for the week…what do you think?

PS: Here’s a little more “inside scoop” on the Hyundai Veloster Turbo:

      Next time I find a crazy deal on a dress I’m going to tweet you a pic and if you like it, I’ll grab two! You should still check them out though because they had like 4 rounders of $5 dresses, it was crazy!
