L’Oreal Root Cover Up: Favourite Find

Every once in a while I come across a product that is so amazing I must share it with you guys. (I wouldn’t be a good girlfriend if I didn’t share my drugstore finds would I?) Today’s find is L’Oreal Root Cover Up spray. This spray has been a huge help in repairing my hair after the whole hair dye mess.

Unfortunately, I started getting grey hair pretty young – I think I was about 26. Currently I’m at least 50% grey and have to dye my roots every 3-4 weeks. Why I dye my roots is a personal choice. To be honest, I kind of love my black hair, and it would be such an ugly process to grow it out now. Some days I wish I had let it grey naturally when it first started to come in, but other days I look in the mirror and see my jet black hair colour and absolutely love it. I’m conflicted on the whole to grey or not grey issue. What I’m not conflicted on is the fact that dying my hair so often is damaging it.

Even though I have a pretty religious hair care regime, including home made oils, I’m always open to any idea that lets me wash and colour my hair less often, which are both drying. I first tried the L’Oreal Root Cover Up spray when we were shooting and ad for a client last year and I needed to cover someone else’s greys, but I used all the leftover spray. I now use it quite regularly and can extend the time between dye jobs by 2-3 weeks because of it.

L’Oreal Root Cover Up Review:

Guys, this is a hit for me, if it wasn’t I would share it with you. But I do have a few notes:

[wc_fa icon=”heart-o” margin_left=”” margin_right=”” class=””][/wc_fa] This is temporary and only lasts for one shampoo. I try to use it on the first day I’ve washed my hair so I can get 3 days of use out of it (between shampoos). Or, I use it on the day I use dry shampoo, again, it extends the wear.

[wc_fa icon=”heart-o” margin_left=”” margin_right=”” class=””][/wc_fa] It is a spray and leaves droplets, so cover your forehead when spraying. Also, use it before you do your makeup, so you don’t risk ruining your foundation.

[wc_fa icon=”heart-o” margin_left=”” margin_right=”” class=””][/wc_fa] For me this lasts quite a while – I can use it for a good 6-8 weeks before it runs out.

You can find the L’oreal Root Cover Up Spray at London Drugs or on Amazon. If you try it, let me know what you think! (This post is not sponsored, I just love this product so much!)
