{Baseball Cap: Target, Dress: Sirens, Shoes: Spring}
Holy heatwave Batman! We have been struck with some surprising bonus days of summer here on the west coast, and while I’m not one to complain about sun…I did pack up my summer wardrobe last week and have nothing to wear. Thankfully this dress was still hanging around in my closet because I just picked it up on Monday. I’ve pretty much walked past Sirens for the last decade because I went in there once after having A and not even the XL pants fit me. After that I kind of wrote it off, but I gave them a second chance (10 years later, because man can I hold a grudge), and was pleasantly surprised. Even the jeggings I wore last week were bought there.
My two crushes of the moment meet – black ball cap and berry lips. I’m obsessed with both for the fall and apparently for once I’m on trend, not behind it!
{Totally random: Am I the only person that is excited to see Ben Affleck as Batman?}
This dress is the perfect example of why you must try something on before you reject it. At first glance it is not my type at all, and didn’t look all that great on the hanger, but what attracted me to it was the length. I shared in my fall wardrobe inspiration post that mid-length skirts were on my radar as a trend to try so I couldn’t resist. I loved how it fit but must have stood in the dressing room for at least 10 minutes contemplating if it was too juvenille, what I would wear it with etc., and then I realized it was only $10 – sold!
That’s the thing with these sort of “teeny-bopper” mall stores, a lot of their clothes are not appropriate for mature bodies and the quality is questionable, but if you do want to participate in a trend the price point is perfect.
In other random news my sister had her baby last night and I am so excited to go visit this evening. In fact, I’m heading out the door to pick up the kids from school and go get me some new baby cuddles. But don’t worry, I’ll be back tomorrow; same bat-time, same bat-blog!

Inner batgirl made me laugh really hard. Fun outfit.
Ben Afflick will be Batman?!? I don’t know if I like that…I’ll have to see the movie to be a better judge 🙂
You look badass! I love it. Especially digging the berry lips… I might have to find some berry lipstick. You see… you inspire me. 🙂
You are the best! No one has ever called me badass before:) Try Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks or the new MAC matte collection if you want to spend a bit more. Both have the best berry lipsticks!
So fun! Not sure I’m cool enough to pull it off but you look fabulous!
That is adorable!!! If they had it for youth I would grab one for my girls too. Love it.
Love the dress and all the Bat talk! Very fun!
